To us this room represents the journey of your adventure, teaching us to focus on the path travelled and the people we are with and not only the destination that we all rush to. It also represents a waypoint to relax and replenish yourself along the way.
This modern two-sleeper room with separate beds makes this a lovely space to share for children or co-workers. And as the name suggests it has a nautical theme bringing a bit of the coast into the East Free State. It is ideal for kids or for people working close by in need of a place to stay.
This unit offers access to a shared Kitchen space with all amenities included and shares a bathroom with the Sonneblom room. This makes it the perfect children’s room for a Family booking the Sonneblom alongside this one.The Drommedaris was a Dutch Jaght built by Amsterdam Yards in the Netherlands in 1645. It was in use by the VOC from 1645 – 1661. On 24 December 1651 a VOC fleet of three vessels, The Drommedaris (under command of David Koning), Goede Hoop and the Reijger, set sail from Texel bound for Batavia.
The Drommedaris, Goede Hoop and Reijger stopped over in Table Bay, South Africa, on 6 April 1652 and in doing so established a halfway stop for re-supplies and repairs for VOC ships on route from the East Indies. This location on the trade route between Europe and the East Indies was paramount, as ships needed fresh water, vegetables and meat.
